Let's talk volume...
*HEALTH & SAFETY*
Practice techniques when using a paddle brush in conjunction with a hot hair dryer. Be wary of the position of the hair dryer, don't let the heat get too close to your model's scalp and use a temperature that caters to the condition of your model's hair.

Begin this voluminous technique by started with either damp to wet hair. Use your favourite heat protector spray and use a generous amount to protect your hair and prep it. Begin to section and blow dry the hair, using a paddle brush and hair dryer. Hold the paddle brush under neath each section of hair, and use the hair dryer in a downwards motion to create a slight lift in the hair. When the hair is completely dry and has a natural lift, add shine serum to make the hair appear flawless. It should look something like this:
Then start sectioning your hair from the front using a medium barrel curling wand, gently release the barrel and use grips to secure in place. Continue to this through the middle portion of the head, and carry on down till around mid-section of the head.
After only a short while, take out the curls carefully and you will have achieved instant volume. Take your paddle brush and gently brush out the slight curls that were created- giving the hair a natural flare, height and some texture. Your finished product should look something along these lines.
Critical Analysis
Although the height was appropriate for this technique and style, the overall hairstyle was slightly messier than what I would have hoped for. Next time I would also be wary of the direction in which I put the curling barrel, and the direction I release it- this proved itself important because my in my final outcome images, the hair at the ends went in different directions as apposed to a harmonious overall curl shape/ structure.
